For Researchers
Grant Writing Support
A number of grant writing consultants are available to help researchers and scholars develop proposals. The following consultants are available as vendors through ISU Purchasing. Principal investigators interested in hiring a consultant should review information about each consultant to see which best fits their needs, including whether the consultant has worked with the target sponsor for the proposal. A summary of grant consultant expertise can be found in the PDF below:
Please read the guidelines within the individual contracts for requesting the services of a grant writing consultant.
- Maberry Consulting & Evaluation
- Partners for Educational Development Inc.
- Engineering and Science Editors
- Grant Development & Management, LLC
- BioScience Writers
In contacting consultants, investigators should discuss project details with the consultant, and if they choose to move forward, complete the required “Exhibit A” Grant Proposal Consulting Statement of Work form to specify the details of the agreement. All signatures are required when using departmental or college funds, but only PI and consultant signatures are required when PIs use their own funds.
If using departmental or college funds, forward the Exhibit A form with PI and grant consultant’s signatures to dean’s office for signature. Upon signature by the college dean and the grant consultant, the Dean’s office will forward Exhibit A to Jeremy Neppl in the Office of the Vice President for Research. The OVPR will review Exhibit A, and details of agreement. Upon approval, the OVPR will forward to Procurement Services.
